Verzasca, almost done

some minor changes to be done tomorrow, aswell taking a daylight picture. Please forgive this nighttime shot. Then I'll call it done and never again do rocks in acrylic again. The next painting consists of mossy stones.

Infernion, Kaiju of Venus

One of three kaiju to split off from the fallen demigoddess, the Leviathan, when she arrived on Venus and gave much of her power to terraform the planet in 2025. Infernion embodies Leviathan's self-hatred, self-sabotage, and stands in opposition to her and the other kaiju (Heraclius and Bronzewing). While he doesn't much care for humanity, he's the default "protector kaiju" because of his hatred for the other kaiju. He also gets along well with Inanna, the spirit of Venus.

Painted in acrylic, using a trick I learned from a War Planets toy...the dark areas are mainly purple, not black. It's a result of the way our eyes work, dark areas next to bright red areas look purplish.

Jonny Appleseed Helps the Wolf

I haven't uploaded anything for a month, so I thought I'd finally post this children's book illustration I did for class last semester. This is Jonny Appleseed helping bandage the wolf's leg after finding him in a hunter's trap. The wolf then becomes his traveling companion!

I painted this entire thing in gesso and payne's gray acrylic before glazing color (also in acrylic) over it. It was my first time trying the technique. I think it was successful in creating ground and environment textures, but I'm not pleased with the way the wolf looks. I like Jonny's face though, I should paint more humans.

Sorry for my absense! I'm in a bit of an art lull, but I wanted to share some stuff that's been sitting around with you anyway.
