The Rose Upon the Sheild
Thy petals are the finest silk I've seen ,
Thy silent beauty breaks this heart of mine .
The stem and leaves , I've never seen so green .
And in mine hands , mine eyes thou cause to shine .
Thy fragrance , once inhaled becomes a balm .
Thy beauty doth define itself in grace .
And on a worried mind , thou lays a calm
And to troubled brow , a smile replaced .
Whenever I am low I turn to thee ,
Since the day I found thee on my shield .
That's when I feel there's nothing I can't be .
That I shall persevere and never yeild .
A token from my lady fair ,
As proof to me that she doth care .
