A Proposal
The moon does rise over the field
As silently she comes to me
On padded paws so quietly
Against my body , she does yield
Her soft grey fur beneath my touch
My arms about her holding tight
Beneath a silvered moon so bright
I never dreamt of love so much
A soft caress , a smile , and then
A kiss that lingers on my lips
I trace her smile with fingertips
As shivers crawl upon my skin
She pulls me down upon the ground
And takes me to a lofty height
Sweet ecstasy throughout the night
And suddenly I'm without bound
I hold her near , so tenderly
Her head lays lightly on my chest
My muzzle to her ear is pressed
I whisper to her silently
"My love , you are a part of me
Our souls do paw in paw belong
To show the world our pure love song
My soul mate , will you marry me ?"
The sun is slowly on the rise
She licks my paw in soft caress
With sparkling eyes , she whispers "yes"
And tears of joy pour from my eyes
Upon the land , new day begins
My soulmate now here by my side
To share my life and be my guide
We'll never be alone again
